It is indeed, as you said, undeniable that even the very young are human beings. Jesus commands us not to murder people.

But the thing is, I granted @KM even her favored grounds for argument and am showing that even when I grant these things to her, her argument can't be sustained.Rhologyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14245825667079220242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13358611.post-29179367400434767392011-03-25T12:33:58.059-05:002011-03-25T12:33:58.059-05:00While I admire your zeal for the unborn, and your ...While I admire your zeal for the unborn, and your determination in dealing with a stubborn pro-choicer, I think you're in the wrong argument here.

Feeling/thinking do not make us human or valuable. Animals can feel and think, but that doesn't make them equal to humans. Coma patients certainly can't feel or think, but I don't think anyone would argue they aren't human.

What it comes down to is: the unborn are living humans. And thus, they have the same inalienable rights all living humans do.

The Official Senate report on Senate Bill 158, the "Human Life Bill," summarized the issue this way:

Physicians, biologists, and other scientists agree that conception marks the beginning of the life of a human being - a being that is alive and is a member of the human species. There is overwhelming agreement on this point in countless medical, biological, and scientific writings.

-Report, Subcommittee on Separation of Powers to Senate Judiciary Committee S-158, 97th Congress, 1st Session 1981, 7.Andrew Ensleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07779872487125574495noreply@blogger.com
