Defriending

I had to 'defriend' someone on Facebook not long ago. Here is the explanation I sent to that person:

--
I promised you an explanation of why I unfriended you, so here it is.
The following are **NOT** reasons why I did it:
I am angry with you
I hate you
I hope you go to Hell
You were defeating my points in debate
You made a whole lot of good points in debate that made me think hard and challenged me

The following **ARE** contributing reasons why:
You often show up on my posts and argue really badly. You impugn my motives without any knowledge of what I'm really thinking. You refuse to accept correction when I remind you that you need to ask me why I do things before you assume you know why I do things. You use poor argumentation that often isn't even relevant. You refuse to accept correction on bad arguments you use and just keep repeating yourself. You use bravado that is annoying, employ grating language that provokes, and passive-aggressively act as if I'm the one being offensive when in fact my language has been very restrained and has stuck to the issues at hand. You rarely stick to the issues at hand. Instead, you fail to distinguish between the person and the issue, consistently.
You also express consistently non-Christian views and then complain and turn others against me when I attempt to examine your views and demonstrate that they are in fact very much non-Christian. Then you have the audacity to ask me "how do you know I don't know Jesus?" which is an entirely ridiculous question, given the positions you express.

I have been patient with you, but Jesus reminds us that there comes a time when His disciples must drop the garbage.
Matthew 7:6 - Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

In this case, you are the dog, you are the swine. You are taking the precious truths of the Gospel of Jesus and its implications and you are trampling them underfoot. And then you are turning and tearing me to pieces with your gratuitously insulting language.
You might complain about my calling you a dog/swine, complain that it's "unloving" or whatever, but I've seen more than enough of your worldview to know that you don't have any idea what Christlike love really is. Christ thought it was loving to attempt to turn people away from their sinful attitudes. He also knew that there exists a limit.
So, dropping our discussions is for my benefit in that way.

It's for the benefit of my fellow disciples of Jesus in that they are also tempted to discuss with you and thus cast THEIR pearls before you, the swine, and I have seen you tear them to pieces too, not with your argumentation and powers of debate, because your argumentation and powers of debate are in fact very weak, but by your conduct and mean-spiritedness.

It's for YOUR benefit in that the Bible makes clear in several places (Romans 1, Luke 12:47-48, 1 Tim 4:2, etc) that the more you are exposed to truth and to argumentation that destroys your position and yet do not repent and believe in Jesus, turning your WHOLE life over to Him, you are storing up more and more wrath for yourself. Hell will be hotter for you, if you will.
I grieve to think that this is in your future, and I pray you will repent. But if you do not repent, you will go to Hell and it will be a terrible eternity for you.
I don't want to contribute to your torment in Hell. I have done what I can to show you the foolishness of your worldview, and you merely spit on it. I'm done.

Stop rebelling against God's Law. Seek out the only way of salvation and beg Jesus to save you.
Jesus said "Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand." Do not delay; Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by Him. The alternative is torment, as the Bible is abundantly clear about.

What you do to ME is unimportant compared to what your conduct towards me reveals about your own heart. That's the key.

I typed the preceding out of love for you and because of our friendship in the past. I won't be responding to any other letter from you unless it is one of repentance and desire to know Jesus on His own terms, completely surrendering your own terms. He is Lord. You are either His slave or His enemy, as the New Testament makes very clear.
