Yes, I am male

From the article mentioned yesterday:

--I'm sure the "hundreds of thousands of women" who made the intimate, difficult, selfless, and ultimately responsible decision to terminate their pregnancies appreciate you speaking for them.

You need to interact with pro-lifers a bit more often. I can't believe ppl still bring forth this old canard.
1) If you're a man, this sword cuts your own argument's throat.
2) I suppose women can't comment on things like "men shouldn't rape and kill gay men b/c they don't like gay men", eh?
3) See reasons 1-2 and 4-9.
4) Aren't more than half of worldwide abortions performed on FEMALE babies? Who speaks for them?
5) The majority of US women are pro-life.
6) If the baby is a human being (which it is) (which is the central question), then killing him is murder, whether a man or woman pulls the trigger, and yes, I'm sufficiently qualified to say murder is wrong.
But if it's not a baby, why would it be difficult? Who cries and agonises about a tonsillectomy?
7) Many women are pressured into abortion by men in their lives.
8) Most aborticians are men.
9) How am I "speaking for them"?

Need I go on?

You just don't understand... :)

The idea is to marginalize you and refuse to consider your comments based on your membership in, or lack thereof, of a particular group. It's identity politics. If you're not part of the right group, your opinion can't possibly be worth anything.

Plus, that way, people don't have to deal with your argumentation.

But I suspect you already knew all that... :)

A provoking, heart-wrenching song on the tragedy of abortion is "Spirit of the Age" by Michael Card.

I thought that I heard crying coming through my door,
Was it Rachel weeping for her sons who were no more?
Could it have been the babies crying for themselves,
Never understanding that they died for someone else?

The voices heard of weeping and of wailing,
History speaks of it on every page.
Of innocent and helpless little babies,
Offerings to the spirit of the age.

No way of understanding this sad and painful sign,
Whenever Satan rears his head there comes a tragic time.
If he could crush the cradle then that would stop the cross,
He knew that once the Light was born his every hope was lost.

Now every age has heard it, the voice that speaks from hell,
"Sacrifice your children and for you it will be well."
The subtle serpent's lying, his dark and ruthless rage,
Behold it is revealed to be the spirit of the age.

Soon all the ones who seemed to die for nothing,
Will stand beside the Ancient of Days.
With joy they'll see the Infant from the manger,
Come and crush the spirit of the age.

Many whose hearts were once hardened and defended abortion, now weep when they think of the slaughter within the womb.

And yet, we must extend Christ's mercy and love to those who commit such deeds, whether it be the the abortionist or the women getting the abortion, or the family/husband/boyfriend pressuring the woman to abort. As our Lord Jesus cried from the cross to His tormentors, "Forgive them Father for they know not what they do."

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner. And have mercy on those who have had or commit abortions. May they come to know the sanctity of life from conception to old age.
