The reality is that so-called pro-life movement is not about saving babies. It’s about regulating sex. That’s why they oppose birth control. That’s why they want to ban abortion even though doing so will simply drive women to have dangerous back alley abortions. That’s why they want to penalize women who take public assistance and then dare to have sex, leaving an exemption for those who become pregnant from rape. It’s not about babies. If it were about babies, they would be making access to birth control widespread and free and creating a comprehensive social safety net so that no woman finds herself with a pregnancy she can’t afford. They would be raising money for research on why half of all zygotes fail to implant and working to prevent miscarriages. It’s not about babies. It’s about controlling women. It’s about making sure they have consequences for having unapproved sex.

The spring of my sophomore year of college I was president of my university’s Students for Life chapter. The fall of my junior year of college I cut my ties with the movement. Five years later I have lost the last shred of faith I had in the pro-life movement. This is my story.

Pete Smith Abolition is a word you have taken for yourself, because you think it sounds better than theocratic fascist. Abolishing slavery sounded good, trying to church up the fact that you are an oppressive organization is a bit more of a stretch. Having a child is a choice, as a parent, I know. My fiance and I had our child because we were ready. The fine, well-educated folks out there who only have children because they believe birth control and abortion are immoral are contributing to population overgrowth. Only an idiot, claiming they are guided by some imaginary, finger wagging deity saying he'll spank you if you don't do what he says, would believe that those are fine reasons to procreate. You censor me because I swore? It's you people who are offensive, with your small minded Christ rhetoric, convincing other small minded fools into thinking they're being holier-than-thou by adding to the problem of food shortage, pollution, and a planet that can barely support the population as it stands. Your message it what needs to be censored, you're poisoning an already polluted and watered down gene pool with vitriolic ignorance.
